What is the key problem Praximax solves? Many growing organizations seem to be drowning in a sea of data, without getting enough insights that can help them make key decisions. Additionally, there is no single place from where one can get a holistic idea of how the business or the product is doing. There are different tools for marketing, product management, software development, post-release observability, APM, etc. but they all work in silos. So we started asking, "What if the CXO could see the overall status of their business or product immediately, without having to call for a meeting or shooting off half a dozen emails?" Praximax tries to solve the problem by collecting data from various silos and making sense of them as a whole. At Praximax, we do not believe meetings are evil. But we feel it is terrible that a meeting needs to be called just to see some data - data that's available digitally albeit across a dozen tools. Scraping and collating data to present in a meeting is not meaningful use of anybody's time. We believe meetings should address the problems and questions data raises.

What do you mean by "insights" here?By “insights”, we mean something that takes the guesswork away and gives you something concrete to base your next actions on. Insights are higher up the analytics value chain than metrics and data. For example, "no. of defects” is a data point (and a terrible metric), not an insight. It doesn’t tell you what may be amiss. It doesn't tell you if it is good or bad. It says nothing about the upshot. On the other hand, “Product X has stability issues that may impact User Adoption” is an insight that prompts action that’s linked with your business goal (User Adoption).

Why can't existing BI tools and dashboards fit the bill? Most of these tools do a great job of presenting the metrics in a graphical way. However, they leave it to you to decipher the meaning of what this data means. The vision behind Praximax is to enable you to cut through the chaff and focus your time on things that impact your business the most. While graphs, numbers, and data tables are critical to evaluating the health of your business, we believe these should be at the second level of BI. Praximax allows you to minimize the cognitive load by telling you what you what’s the impact of these metrics; with an option to drill down where you need to.

Why doesn't something like Praximax exist already?Because it isn't easy 🙃 The leading signals are very different for each industry and each each product. It takes discipline to get ensure that the various teams are using their tools correctly. There are many point solutions for say, software development (e.g., Git Analysis), that work well within the teams.

How do I know if Praximax fits my needs?Praximax is not for every type of organization. Right now, it may fit you best if: Your core offering is a software or hardware product, or your business is driven by technology you have built in-house. Your organization is in the growth phase, with a product/market fit and a recent (or anticipated) rapid increase (10x or more) in team size. You have tried or are keen to try out OKRs at the organization level or even a department level. Your organization wants to move from a hustle-based approach to a process-based approach. We hope that we can increase the scope of the product to accommodate more types of organizations in the future.
